According to the different shapes and hardness of diamond particle crystal, they can be divided into the following types,

MBD2

The crystal is relatively complete, the surface is smooth, and the compressive strength is low.

It is generally used in the production of cutting or polishing soft stone and brittle material processing tools. It can also be used in diamond dressing knives, diamond file.

MBD4

Crystal integrity, smooth crystal surface, low compressive strength .Suitable for making metal bond diamond cutting or grinding tools for  soft stone and brittle materials,  can also be used in diamond dressing knives, metal bond dimaond polishing pad, etc.

MBD6

Crystal integrity, smooth surface, moderate compressive strength. It is generally used for raw materials such as soft and brittle marble stone cutting drilling tools, but it can not be used for the processing of reinforced concrete tools, it can also be used to make diamond dressing tools.

MBD8

Crystal is complete, high purity, medium toughness, high thermal stability, strong impact resistance.

It is generally used for the production of medium-hard stone

MBD12

Commonly used and manufactured cutting high hardness stone and reinforced concrete diamond tools, electroplating tools, diamond correction knives as well as engineering and geological drills.

 

 

Quality Inspection

TI impact toughness: Using the fixed impact number method, the sample is impacted for a certain number of times, then sieved, and the impact toughness is expressed in terms of the percentage of the uncrushed material.

Through the TI test, each batch of abrasive intensity and hardness is controlled within a narrow range, and the larger wave times are reduced to achieve consistent quality.

TTI thermal shock toughness: The pattern is first heated at 1100°C for 10 minutes, and then tested for impact toughness TI. The resulting value is the TTI value.

TTI's main test for heat resistance, thermal stability, is the ability of a crystal to retain its strength after high temperature processing.

Magnetic susceptibility X0: The magnetic susceptibility of diamond is determined by its internal metal impurities, showing a linear relationship. The lower the impurity content, the weaker the magnetism, the higher the strength, the better the crystal form, and the better the thermal stability.

 1. What does MESH size mean of RVD and MBD diamond?
     MESH refers to abrasive particle sizes typically 40 µm (1 µm = 40 microinches) or greater. 

2. How are MESH size diamond powders measured and classified?
    Sieves and screens are used, which mesh size is the number of openings per linear inch of mesh.  Particle sizes for sieving range from 10 µm to 100,000 µm.
